1. 7 principles for building a successful product

   This will be a short presentation followed by a discussion around product development, product management, and product marketing.

   I will go through the seven principles I've learned over the past 10+ years of my career in product management, software engineering, as well as marketing:

   1. Identify a gap in the market
   2. Carefully listen to the market
   3. Solve your own problem, optionally
   4. Learn to motivate your team
   5. Presentation matters, sometimes a lot
   6. Don't be afraid to build it yourself, with or without AI
   7. Identify the most effective marketing channels

   I will discuss a concrete example or two for each of these points and this will be a maximally interactive session where you can pitch in either at the end or throughout the presentation to further dig into these points.

2. From Zero to Million: How I got the first Million downloads on my Open-Source PHP package

   • Get introduced on my Open-Source Laravel localization project and what made it to achieve 1M downloads.

   • Learn about the experience of being a Open Source package maintainer, get advised (specially on what to do differently).

   • End the presentation inspired to do the same I did (or even better)!

   I will start by explaining a little bit about the project and it’s differentials.

   The second part will explain the process and the most important decisions and suggestions that I got from friends and co-workers (highlighting the importance of sharing your personal projects with people you thrust).

   Third part will speak about how to get financial support for a free and Open Source project. Here I will also reveal what I would do differently if I could go back in time.

   Last part will provide valorous advices for who is starting or looking for a project to start. I will also try to finish the presentation by inspiring people to do the same I did (or even better).
