Unveiling the Abyss: Exploring a Product Manager's Deepest Fears
“What is your deepest fear?” - Coach Carter (greatest movie of all time)
Whether you are an aspiring Product Manager or a seasoned Product Professional, we are often hyper-focused on our success metrics, deliverables, stakeholders, proudest product launches, etc. Meanwhile, the realm of uncertainties, failures, and fears of product management often remains unspoken despite the fact that they subconsciously play an integral part within our decision-making processes.
Picture this: You are on the cusp of launching a new product, your team has poured countless hours into its development, and expectations are soaring. But as the launch date looms closer, doubt creeps in. What if the users do not embrace our solution? What if our competitors outmaneuver us? What if, despite our best efforts, the product falls short of expectations?
During this presentation, we will shed light onto these fears - the fears that keep us awake at night, gnaw at our confidence, and challenge our resilience (all this with a healthy dose of sports movie references).
But fear not, for in the darkness lies an opportunity for growth, innovation, and transformation. By confronting these fears head-on, we will uncover insights, build resilience, and become better equipped to navigate the challenges that lie ahead of our respective Product careers.
