Solving Design Questions as a Group with CIRCLES Product Design Framework
Working through a new feature or product to build given a target metric is something we work through on a regular basis. One design framework that helps work through this is the CIRCLES product design framework. Much like Olympic athletes we should be continually training and honing this ability to stay at the top of our game. New and seasoned PMs are encouraged to attend.
The CIRCLES Product Design Framework involves the following:
C - Comprehend the situation
I - Identify the customers / personas (children, stay at home dads, etc...)
R - Report the customer needs "As , I want so that _"
C - Cut through and prioritize the use cases based on some attributes (revenue, customer benefit, complexity)
L - List solutions
E - Evaluate trade offs
S - Summarize the recommendation
As an active participant in the audience you will help solve two product design challenges. Everybody gets a chance to be engaged and we will live poll for the favourite ideas from each CIRCLES category as we progress through each challenge.
This session will be led by Paul Save who is the founder of Cascadia Data Science Institute, the Vice-President of the Product Management Association of BC, and a product manager at Central 1 Credit Union.
